For twelve years I have been helping large and small companies execute a user-centered design process. I 
provide seasoned expertise in interaction design, information architecture and frontend engineering.

EXPERIENCE

Chief Technical Officer, Online Financial Services Startup; California — 2009-2010
Technical consulting and design of systems architecture for a new online financial services startup currently 
operating in stealth mode.

Interaction Designer, Cisco; San Jose, CA — 2008-2009
Wrote interaction design guidelines for suite of reusable components used in over 50 Cisco products and 
applications. Art directed the production of several hundred icons for the Cisco User Experience Icon Library. 
Created complete Omnigraffle stencil toolkit used by interaction designers throughout Cisco for the creation of 
high fidelity wireframes that accurately convey the Cisco User Experience Standards our team published. 
Provided research and guidance to Cisco application developers as they standardized on a common open 
source JavaScript library. Advised Cisco on how to meet both the functional requirements of a common 
JavaScript library, as well as non-functional requirements including maintainability, reusability, performance, 
compatibility with pre-existing toolkits, and other technical and aesthetic considerations and requirements.

Interaction Designer, Google; Mountain View, CA — 2008
Created multiple versions and iterations of prototypes of new DHTML interactions for Google Maps usability 
studies. Created many wireframes used to explore future interaction design direction for Google Maps. 

Designer/Developer, Yahoo; Sunnyvale, CA — 2005-2007
Completed frontend engineering for a system of promotional “feature cue” units; targeted, contextual and 
relevant DHTML overlays used to promote new or improved Yahoo! product features. Designed and built an 
asset management system with over 100 internal users. Strategy, interaction design and Web development for 
Yahoo! Toolbar microsite. User research and prototyping to explore techniques for promoting Yahoo! products 
and features. Visual design for Small Business landing pages. Strategy and Web development for multiple 
landing page projects. Web development support for multiple live A/B testing efforts. 

Interaction Designer, Citrix; San Jose, CA — 2007
Created visual design comps for exploration of Citrix Sidebar look and feel direction. Created final interaction 
design for the final sidebar application, used to provide employees with tools and resources necessary for 
working through an emergency situation. Created final interaction design for web-based administration 
application used for managing emergency scenarios.

Designer/Developer, Cisco; San Jose, CA — 2004-2005
Created site architecture and structured vocabulary for Executive Thought Leadership Web site, as well as 
supervising and participating in Web development for the redesign. Web development for internal John 
Chambers CEO Web site. Collaborated with Platform UED to establish, evolve and adhere to design 
patterns. Designed, implemented and maintained a variety of internal Web sites and tools.
